Asthma
I was searching high and low for Lunz inhaler the other night. I went to 2 pharmacies and 3 clinics and yet all of them told me they don't sell this inhaler namely flixotide. So, I tried my luck again at a nearby pediatrician's clinic after we left from mum's house. This clinic was closed when I made the ran around trip earlier. Apparently the doctor was there at the counter when I walked in. As predicted, he told me he doesn't sell flixotide and I asked him what other choices that he can recommend to me. He went back inside and returned with a type of inhaler called seretide. He told me seretide was milder than flixotide and that's why we need to give Lunz twice daily, morning and night instead of once a day like the flixotide in order to obtain the same effect. Plus, seretide has two types of medication and flixotide only has one type which gave seretide a plus point. But when he told me the seretide costed RM115.00, I told him I will come back again if I wanted it. It's way too expensive than what I expected and I thought I might as well continued looking for flixotide because I was also afraid that seretide might not suits Lunz.
I told daddy who was waiting in the car with Lunz what the doctor said and we finally made up our mind to get it. So, we went back inside and sought his consultation. I must say that this Dr. Chen is more attentive, professional and informative than the usual paed. where I sent Lunz to. Dr. Chen checked his throat, lungs and nose and said he was fine at the moment. Then, he tried to get the details from us like how long we have been using flixotide, since when the last bottle finished, when was the last asthma attack, how many dose of neubolizer was taken and so on. He asked us to track all these like when there will be an attack, cough, flu, running nose, phlegm and sneeze using a calender. Write it all down for record. What are the suspected trigger factors like food intake, rainy days or played too much? All these has to be noted.
The purpose of jotting them down was for the doctor to analyse based on the records. So, from there the doctor will be able to suggest effective medication to us. Without long term observations and records, it is very hard for the doctor to determine the medication course merely just based on our verbal talk. That's why parents gotta be co-operative and note it all down. Dr. Chen also told us to monitor his health if the seretide inhaler finished. What would happened? If he cough continuously on and off for a few days, he will have to see Dr. Chen again and continue the medication. That is how we have to monitor. Dr. Chen also gave us a bottle of antihistamine for Lunz nose allergy. That one was to be taken 5ml every night until finished and then observed his health. He also thought me how to confirm an attack by looking at the chest bones. If the chest bones rised up high and expanded, the person is breathing loud and heavy with difficulty, an attack has happened. He asked us to send him to 24 hours clinics or hospital immediately if it is in the middle of the night for the neubolizer dosage intake. He even teached me to use the aerochamber properly and that when we let him take the dosage of 2 puffs at a time, twice daily, we gotta do it slowly and properly. Meaning we press the inhaler 1 puff and let him inhale for 10 or more seconds, then only proceed with the second puff. Unlike what I did all this while, pump twice then only let him inhaled. Now I know the proper method because Dr. Chen told me if I pumped twice then only let him inhaled, 40-50% of the gases might have sediment in the aerochamber before it can reaches into Lunz's lungs. It made sense. He said for such expensive medicine, we have to fully utilized its benefits.
I never knew I was practising the wrong method all this while. So, now at home, I have got one big calendar that marked all our observations on Lunz. Daddy will be in charged of giving him the morning puffs before sending him off to school while I take care of the night time puffs. Hopefully we will be able to trace the pattern and the trigger factors so that we can keep the asthma fully under controlled.

Over the Past Week
It has been some time since I updated my blog. Besides pretty bz bz bz at work, a lot of things happened around me as well. Let me go into details one by one:
1) We can finally have the house to ourselves!
Yahhooooo! Both daddy and I can finally have the house to ourselves. I wouldn't elaborate the grandmother story behind but the good thing is we finally have our good old home back to ourselves. So, both of us spent one week scrubbing and cleaning the whole house, from the kitchen right up to the front porch. It took me 3 nights just to clean up the kitchen and replenished it with a new set of cookery pots and wok. And of course, being the master of the kitchen, I did decorated it with other accessories as well such as setting up a new water filter, putting up new hand towels and etc. Daddy helped much in the cleaning process, i.e., scrubbing the tiles and washing the toilets. Both of us were drop dead tired during the past week but we were happy because the house is so homely and clean now. Lunz was extremely well behaved while we did the chores. He played by himself most of the time. Daddy even had a private PC room all to himself. And we had a new fridge too! We even threw a steamboat dinner with my side of family members. Enough for this part, let me move on to the next one.
2) Lunz passport was finally done but he had severe asthma attack on the same day.
We finally got his passport done for our Singapore trip in May but due to the long hours waiting in the stupid immigration, I think he was too tired and easily prone to asthma attack. Another thing I wanted to complain was the poor service in the immigration. There were 8 counters but just only 1 counter that was operating. We reached there at 7.30 am and by 3pm only we managed to collect his passport. On the same night, Lunz has been getting several continuous asthma attack. Even his inhaler was not working effectively. The inhaler only managed to soothe him for 2-3 hours and the attack was back again. I need to depends on giving him the cough medicine to make him feel better. Even in the middle of 3am, I wanted to bring him to the clinic already but he resisted, and managed to resume his sleep. The next day, daddy brought him to the paed. and immediately he had to take the neubolizer dose. We even went back for a second dose later in the evening. Then, the paed. gave us some medication in which Lunz recovered back slowly. But still, I need to monitor him closely and daddy even did some research online about the asthma trigger factors. I even gave him Chinese medication and crocodile meat soup as another alternative. Hopefully, those work.
3) My case was finally settle.
My divorce case has finally came to a settlement. I attended the final court session on Monday and the judge has finalized the whole matter. In 3 months time, the court will issue some sort of an official document to declare my status. I also took the opportunity to consult some legal advice from my lawyer on Lunz legal guardian issue. I wanted to appoint a legal guardian for Lunz, you know, just in case anything happen to me, the legal guardian will carry out my role. Or at least make some important decisions about his future. Rather than handing him back to his father which I know will not carry out his responsibility properly, I did rather appoint a legal guardian. The process is simple, according to my lawyer. It will just take 3 months time for the whole paper documentation process and I just need to nominate the right persons and submit their ICs. But the legal fees is costly, about RM 1.5k for the whole process. But eventually, I will do it. It's just like buying an insurance, just in case anything bad happened to me.
4) Interview with Steelcase.
I went for an interview yesterday and apparently it went smoothly. I was able to impress the interviewers. Hopefully I will hear good news from then. Just for this interview, I studied and read a lot about current environmental issues. It was like studying for exams. Hahaha! But, I must say, it's worth my effort. Let's not put too high hopes because there are still other candidates. :P
5) Mum had to undergo an operation!
Mum was diagnosed this morning in the emergency ward to have this growing fibroid or cyst in her uterus that blocks her bladder making it difficult for her to urinate. According to doctor, she needs an operation to remove the fibroid. We will seek a suitable hospital for the operation and all of us are ready to take care back our own children while she has to take the time to heal after the operation. Right now, we just gotta choose the correct doctor and hospital for admittance.
Too many things happened in such a short time! Well, need to rush back home now...will update the blog soon.

The Whole Family Were Sick!
Lunz was complaining the whole night even while sleeping. The little one slept early and daddy and I had time to ourselves for some AOD show. But, Lunz did not slept soundly, he kept on waking up and twist and turn, making a lot of noise. We thought that he was having some nightmare but then before we realized what was happening, he threw up. Acting fast, I took him to the toilet and cleaned him up while daddy changed the bed sheet. After he had vomited, he was finally able to sleep soundly. But by midnight, I realized he had fever. Both his feet soles and palms were hot. I checked the time and it was only 1.45am. How can he tolerate until morning? I couldn't possibly be taking the risk. I had no choice but to drive all the way back to my mum's house to get the fever medicine. Daddy volunteered to go instead but I insisted to go myself because he wouldn't know where on earth I put the medicine in mum's house.
Lesson learnt-ALWAYS put FEVER medicine in daddy's house. (This is the thing I always forgot but since that night, I put one extra bottle in daddy's house already).
The next day, I did not let Lunz attend school. By the time I reach home after work, the little fella had diarrhea. And the worst thing was, he dared not even pee. Because when he tried to pee, the watery stool came out as well. So, he was scared. I took him to the toilet most of the time and persuaded him to pee by telling him that mummy will washed his buttocks for him. Poor little boy.
Without further delays, I brought him to the paed. Viral infection as predicted. The paed told us that it was infectious and even adults were exposed to the infection. He asked us to be careful and stays hygienic. By the time Lunz recovered, the next victim was me. I thought I was having gastric but little did I know, the virus was darn fast. I was almost half dead by the next morning and I had an interview to attend. Luckily, I managed to gather all my strength and responded quite well during the interview. By the time it was finished, I had drained out all my energy. I was a dead zombie the next thing. I laid on bed all day, all night with no appetite to eat at all. Daddy did the house chores and babysitted Lunz while I laid on the bed motionlessly. The virus was really vicious. It made you have no appetite for food, you can't vomit and passed motion. The pain just got stuck inside your stomach, growling and made you screamed for help.
My family members teased me and mentioned could that be so serious?? Daddy was the most cocky one telling everybody that where will be so easy being infected lar. The next thing was....everybody in the household kena!
Mum and bro had this stomach pain feeling but considered well compared to meimei and sis-in-law. Both of them threw up continuously and had diarrhea. Dad was the least affected of all, only having to visit the toilet once. Daddy was the king of them all. Being the cocky one initially, he landed on the bed the whole day and night. Hah! He was so unwilling to be touched and moved that he did not even took his bath for that day!
Sigh....now you know how poisonous and infectious the virus was. (To daddy...hehehe).

Master of Phonics
After just a few weeks of learning from school, the little one is able to recite phonics from A-Z complete with actions. I noticed that when I took out his ABC reading book from his bag one night. The book was brought home from school because there was a little bit of home work to be done. So, when I opened the book, he saw the contents and started to say....
A says eh...A says eh...A for Apple and A says eh eh eh...(action-palm placed on the chin when said eh).
B says ber...B says ber...B for Ball and B says ber ber ber...(action-hand signaling OK while raising up into the air).
C says ke...C says ke...C for Cat and C says ke ke ke....(action-both hands signaling OK peeking on each side of the cheek).
All the way to Z....
I was so happy seeing such big progress on him. I'm glad I picked the right school. Looks like he enjoys school a lot. It's really fun seeing him reciting the phonics and completed it with actions some more. Daddy was paying attention to him as well. Then I told daddy, so, worth paying 240 bucks a month leh seeing such progress. ;)

Thank You, Teacher
I will usually tell Lunz every night during bedtime that he will be going to school the next day. So, when I told him about school yesterday night......
Me : Go to sleep la. Tomorrow have go to school ah.
Lunz : Thank you, teacher.
Me : Hahaha (coz I knew he learnt that from school). Some more?
Lunz : Good bye, teacher.
Me : Children, please line-up and go to the toilet (imitating what the teacher said).
Lunz : Go toilet and wash your hands.
Me : Some more?
Lunz : The wheel on the bus goes round and round, round and round, round and round. The wheel on the bus goes round and round, all day long.
Hmmm....I think he learnt that song from school. Anyway, daddy peep him at school today. Uncle drove Lunz to school and daddy tailed from behind. And that silly daddy called me when he was outside the school compound hiding behind the bushes....like a CNN reporter, reporting live from the scene.
He told me that since it was still early to go to work yet, he has decided to drop by and watched that boy at school. Daddy told me that once Lunz has gotten off from the car, he went to sit on the bench until his teacher came and asked him to take off his shoes and put his bag in his classroom. Well, which he did. According to daddy, later he saw Lunz coming out from his class, took his shoes from the rack, wore them and went to the playground. Gosh! I really wanted to see how he behaves during class.
Daddy told me that this morning Lunz did a huge 'business' before departing from our house to school. Even in an early morning rushy condition, that boy still did a huge business, comfortably switching on the TV and grabbed a book while doing his business. Hahaha...kik sei daddy!
Tomorrow will be my turn to be a 'CNN reporter' since I have time in the morning as I need not enter office.
