PC games craze!

As promised, I bought something for my boys after I have gotten my bonus. I have 1.25 months of bonus. Same as last year. Better than nothing la. Earlier we even heard rumors that there wasn't any bonus for this year. So, lucky we can get. :)

With my low salary, even an additional of 1.25 months bonus is not considered much. But, with the little extra money, at least I managed to do a lot of things. I planed to save at least RM1K, pay off my road tax which is due by February next year, give my parents angpow, settle some of my credit card amount and pay the every-month-must-pay bills such as my car installment, milk powder and Lunz's driver fees. Don't forget that school starts next week.

I happily brought the boys for dinner in Mines on the day I got my bonus. I even got them each a joystick for PC games. Lunz is addicted to PC games now a days. Thanks to his daddy! :P

Seeing them happy, I'll be happy of course! Talk about PC games, the little one is really a quick learner. Daddy showed him one step only he will remember. Like the Mickey Mouse game, when it comes to solving puzzles, he is really good at it. Like the Street Fighter (boy, those games are my time punya games but it's suitable for him as it's not complicated as those PC games now a days. The animation is more bigger and clearer for him), he can really play man!

He even asked me to beat the 'Taiko' in the Mickey Mouse game and when I failed, he will say, "Mimi, taufoo la!". Hmmpphhh....even my son knows how to ejek me! Duh....

Thanks to daddy, he built an entirely new (internal) desktop PC for the little one----->just to play PC games. He took the old PC from my bro and re-modify it. He bought a new motherboard to enable the PC to function properly. He even bought some of the internal 'organs' for the PC. In total he spent about RM 300 just to revive that old PC. In the end, the PC is working! IT people are really good at their expertise.

Apart from that, Lunz like the new MYFM Chinese New Year songs. He knows how to sing in Mandarin now a days (although a bit broken). He even asked me to imitate the singers' actions in the MV while singing. Me playing the lady part while he sing and action on the guy's part. Wow...he really knows how to act now. Hahahaha....

Aiya....my little bugger knows how to talk back now. Ish Ish....need to go home already. Will explain that in the next post. Coming soon....

Christmas 2009

Yesterday was Christmas. It has been 3 weeks since I had abandoned this blog. Hahaha...super busy with work. I just got back from a 3 days trip to Johor. I had to spend the Chinese Winter Festival in Johor. How pity....sigh....but I was really really glad that daddy took up the initiative to pick up Lunz from my mum's house on that day. He even cooked him some 'tong yuen' when they reached home. Heard from daddy, both sat down and enjoyed the 'tong yuen'. *SIGH* Wish I was there. Grandma passed away this year, so, according to mum, they are not supposed to make 'tong yuen'. So, I was really really glad again for daddy to make the effort to cook 'tong yuen' for the little one. It felt homely. He even spared some, intending to cook for me when I returned. Thanks daddy, the family man!

Daddy's older sister's whole family came over for steamboat on Christmas. Well, we kinda enjoyed ourselves very much. We chatted throughout dinner and daddy's bro-in-law is really a nice person to talk with. We ate until we can't stuffed in anymore. The kids enjoyed as well because they had a lot of pressies to open! Daddy's sister brought a present for both me and Lunz. That's really nice of her to get me something. Because, normally we just buy for the kids, not the adults. I guessed it's because she saw me keep on getting cute little dresses for her baby girl. Hahaha....we have much in common to talk now a days. And all this really comes from own initiative. Like you treat people good, they will realize and treat you back equally.

Anyway, I got a necklace from Ka Jeh. I wanted to follow daddy and call her Ka Jeh most of the time because myself practically don't have an older sister (and I would love to have one and feel the closeness by calling sister rather than name) but dunno people will think I'm weird or not. So, it's better to her by her name until it's confirmed! Lunz got a barbecue Play-Doh set from her. From us, he received a t-shirt, Mr. Bean animated VCD, a battery operated toy and some food. I gave a mini fan with USB plugged-in for daddy. He can have wind blowing at his face at the computer desk rather than the blow-only-the-leg-fan he had under the table. At least something la for Christmas. If my bonus is thick, both he and lunz will get a huge present in January. Our anniversary ma!

It's coming to year end soon. Time really flies. I remembered, all of us were in Mines at the same day and time (on Christmas) last year. And can you believe it? It felt like as if it was yesterday when in fact a year had already passed. This makes me realized that I have to treasure everything present more and more.

Some of my major encounters for this year:

1. Lunz started school.
2. Mum had a major operation.
3. I moved in to stay with daddy.
4. I got my divorce certificate finally.
5. Visited Germany.
6. Best friend's wedding.
7. Crazy sister gone to Makati.
8. Beloved grandma passed away.
9. Daddy brought us to Singapore.
10. I had a MYVI!

Hahaha...those are the ones that I can remember now. Of course, they were so many others. Like I really really appreciate my relationship with daddy. Sometimes I don't know how to spell it out but I felt it in my heart. I don't know how to tell him I really appreciate his presence in both me and Lunz's life. And I believed he is there for a reason. Those happy smiles on my face when simple things happened such as a before bedtime Lunz back riding his daddy. Both of them playing.... I'm grateful for all these and I knew it deep down in my heart. Of course, sometimes we do fight over silly things (sometimes it's so bad that I wanted to strangle him) but that's no barrier to the love I have for him or the love we have for one another.

I appreciate very much family ties now a days. I will try to make an effort to be there for my parents. When dad send me to work (sometimes I don't drive when I had to travel), I would stand and watch until he left on his bike. Until I can't see any sign of him. If compared to the old teenager me, honestly, I was ashamed if people see my dad sent me to school on a bike. That was the teenager me. You don't know how grateful I am now when my dad send me to work on his bike. He would wake up early just to send me. And I am glad he is there for me. Parents. They are the greatest people on earth.

I started to feel sorry for my older brother. I think he is having some financial difficulties at the moment and for years to come. He is following the footsteps of my father, as what my mum said. Sigh....what to do? Humans are like this, work and work for a living and for own generation. I am glad at least I don't have to worry all this as daddy's financial capabilities is quite stable. So, I'm lucky in many ways. :)

Lastly, Happy New Year to everyone and not to mention my dearie in Makati!

Weight Gained and Artworks

As now is currently the school holidays, the little one practically does nothing at his popo's house. His daily activities are eat, sleep, watch TV and play computer. That's it. Even during weekends as well. And I noticed he has gained weight. I mean seriously gained weight! I tried to get him up the measuring scale yesterday and guess how much he weight?

It's freaking 27kg!

4 1/2 years old at 27kg!

I know I must do something to control his weight now. I don't want it to be too late and he has to suffer later in life. I mean later, there could be problems arising if I don't take any actions now. His weight may started to increase even more when he entered adolescent stage. That's where he needs more energy to grow. He will eat more. Who knows? Some said, once he is a teenager, he will lose weight coz he will be more engage in exercises and sport activities. But who knows? Perhaps it's the other way round. It's better to control now than later, right?

To start, I'll have to stop keeping junk food at home, or maybe I have to store it at unseen places like inside the cabinet where we can only eat when he's asleep. No more yogurt drinks or yogurt as these are sugar-based products. Low-fat yogurt can be considered as a source of calcium. Occasionally, he can still take some biscuits as snack. But I have to avoid junk food and sweets. More outdoor activities, maybe I'll have to get him a bike or something. So, that he can indulge in some form of exercise that he likes. For GOD sake, I have to do something! I have already decreased his milk intake. From 8oz to 7oz and now is 5oz. Basically his rice intake is not much, I mean his main meals are not heavy. I don't know from where he got the excess weight from. I guess it's from the doughnuts, pies, cookies, sweets and ice-creams. I know those are his favorites. But what to do? Just try to limit them.

Hopefully I can do it without my heart melting to see that pity look on his face when I shake my head signaling a NO-NO before he put those food in his mouth.

Before

After

So leng chai pin fei chai...wasted leh....
More more exercise please daddy!!

Before school holiday started, his teacher gave me back all his artworks for me to keep. Considering those are precious artworks more than the MONA LISA painting, I decided to display them rather than to store them away in a box. So, I actually put them up all over the cabinet in his room.

And he actually knows the name of his male classmates! Daddy found out when he accidentally asked the little one while pointing to one of his classmates in his class photo. One after another, he actually knew all the names of all his male classmates except for the females. He didn't know any of the girls because when we asked him, he did not reply but just smile only. :)

From left to right, he knows the name of each of the boys, but not the girls.

Ipoh Trip

We went to Ipoh last weekend. As Friday was a public holiday, we decided to relax and went for a short-one-night-stay trip. As the decision was last minute, I failed to book any hotel. Most of the hotels were either fully booked or it was very expensive. So, we decided to spend the night at daddy's grandma's house. Unfortunately and coincidentally, grandma left for Aus on the same day. Result, we can't spend the night there. Since, I had earlier invited my bro and family to tag along this trip, we finally figured out on where to stay for the night. My sis-in-law's grandpa's house! Her grandpa was on holiday in KL and he was actually kind enough to offer his house for us to stay.

Mum had earlier warned me on the condition of the house. It was those wooden kampung house. So, I made a huge preparation. We were just there to stay for the night but I packed as if I was moving house instead. I took all the toiletries items, bedsheets, pillows and not to mention clothing, laptop and toys for the kids. Daddy's car was overloaded. Hahaha....living a night is easy if you are traveling without kids. Just a sleeping bag will do the job. But with kids around, I always ensure things are comfy. And I packed heavily was because I knew we were traveling by car (I could dumped all the things in easily) and because the house does not has the necessities that we have to use even though it's just a night. If we were to travel by plane, our luggage were simple, just one big suitcase and one hand carry. Because we can find all the necessities in the hotel!

So, we left KL early on Friday morning in two cars. Thank god we drove two cars. That meimei was definitely a big bully. Kept on telling her mum that Lunz bully her or Lunz make her when in fact Lunz never did anything more than just hugging her or touching her lightly. She kept on crying also, throwing tantrums, demanding this and that...all this only happens when her mum is around. So, it was good we drove two separate cars, for at least Lunz can lie down on the passenger's seats behind when he felt like it or at least we have a peace of mind. Imagine 4 adults, 2 kids and hell load of things in a Myvi (Mind you, a Myvi not Estima or Alphard) would be really overloaded!

We reached Ipoh by 10am, found the house and unloaded our stuffs. The house really need proper spring cleaning and we have to do that. But we decided to have some fun first. So, we dropped everything and hopped into one car and off we went to the Lost World of Tambun. It was pretty sunny at that time. Everyone fully utilized the sunblock cream which I bought purposely for this trip. But thank god, no one got sunburn.

Remember: Sunblock is very important for outdoor activities. Without them, you will get SUNBURN! Which we experienced before, and now we wouldn't wanna repeat the mistake of not getting the sunblock.

Tambun was fun, especially for the kids. Although I think that the slides were almost more or less the same with Sunway Lagoon but as long as the kids enjoyed, that was the purpose of the visit. We were done with the water park by 1.30pm, thought of going for a walk around the park or maybe some rides after lunch, then it started to rain by 3.00pm. Since the rain was quite heavy and wouldn't stop for the next 2 hours, we have no choice but to leave the place. But luckily we had plenty of time at the water park before the rain.

Next destination was Giant. We bought some mosquito repellent coils, mineral water and some junk foods. Left the place soon and headed back home. Everybody helped to clean the house. I have mopped the floor 3 times. The bedsheet was changed, toilet washed, kitchen was cleaned up and we boiled some hot water. After the cleaning, it was more comfortable. Then, we took turns for our baths and headed out for dinner by 6pm.

Gosh, Ipoh ngar choy kai shops are always loaded with people during the long stretch of holidays. We waited long enough for a table and when we finally got one, other people were practically standing at our table already waiting for us to leave. And that was just when we were about to start eating. They actually waited from the moment we started until we finished all our food. Honestly, if I see this condition in the shops in KL, thank you and good bye, I wouldn't even thought of waiting. But since we came a long way from KL, we shouldn't missed the good and famous ngar choy kai.

After dinner, we went to Jusco. Even in Ipoh, Jusco was not missed. Hahaha....after Jusco, daddy bought supper and we headed back because the kids were sleepy. They didn't nap earlier. So, they were pretty exhausted. That's how we spent the night. Nothing much in Ipoh. Another reason was practically because we have kids with us as well. So, we must think of them.

The next morning after breakfast, we went to shop for some famous Ipoh food, including the salty chicken. Daddy dropped by his family inherited shop (business of food wholesale) for a while to chit-chat with his 5th uncle while bro went to grab some local biscuits in the shop across the road. Then, we went back to pack and headed back home. On the way to exit into the highway, we dropped by the Sam Pou Tung. Took a few pictures and a short walk, and off we hit the road again.

By the time we reached KL, it was already 3pm. The trip was short but we enjoyed it very much.

We slept in this room

He is just so adorable!
