A Quick Update

I need to make a quick update because I've abandoned my blog for more than a month already. Blame my boss because she doesn't travel as frequent as the other managers, thus, leaving me no time at work to blog. :P

The Boy:
There's so much changes in him and I can't stop him from growing. I mean he used to be so little and now he has grown so much. Silly me. Of course, he grows but time is really fast. I'm enjoying my every moment with him before he has a life of his own (not sticking to the parents anymore). He is currently 33 kgs (a lil' overweight but thank God he is tall) and 127cm tall. He does pretty well in school and finishes his homework at his popo's house after school every weekday. I don't have to worry about coaching him on his homework whenever I come home from work because he finishes everything before I fetch him. But of course, I do check his homework and hardly, there will be a mistake. And when there is a spelling test at school the next day, I'll give him the exercise the night before and he always gets the words correct. Of course, he is still a lil' bit weak in Chinese and I need to show him some of the words for him to recall and write.

He catches up on things pretty fast, like when you teach him only once and he will remember it for life. Daddy taught him once on how to count using his toes if 10 fingers are not enough to make up the sum (which is a wrong way for numbers more than 20!), and he remembered it since! For his eating habit, he is still as picky. He doesn't like vege and when we ask him to eat at least a few bites of vege, he will negotiate with us on the number of bites. He still loves milk as much. He now knows how to build words and combine it into sentences all by himself. If he doesn't know how to spell a certain word, he will ask me or Daddy. And he likes to write on the whiteboard, expressing how he felt at that time. Like his popo and meimei supposed to visit but never turned up. The silly boy wrote on the whiteboard, asking why his friends (referring to popo and meimei and the rest) never turned up. And when I came back late from work one day, he wrote on the board that only daddy and Sebastian go to sleep, good night.

Oh yes! His favourite new passion now is the Solar System. He learnt it from YouTube. And he memorizes all the planets in the Solar System and the sequences. Honestly, I didn't pay much noticed earlier on which planet comes after next until he 'educated' me. Now I know. :P There were so much that he learnt from YouTube, like opposites, etc.

I bought him a Solar System paper models, downloaded solar system education games for him on Iphone and even brought him to the National Planetarium. If you asked me, our National Planetarium sucks! But for RM1 per adult entrance, I guess the quality was pretty much like that. I actually expected a built up model of the Solar System on displayed at the Planetarium but to my dissapointment, I can't find any. It was just a model and a basic teaching to the public no how our Solar System looks like and yet the National Planetarium does not have it! We spent like less an hour there and then we went back, nothing nice. Even Petrosains is much much better.

On another update, Lunz finally read by himself now with me correcting him on every word he pronounce incorrectly. He reads during bedtime and usually he will read one page and me the next. It's a very good initiative start from him! And also lately, we have introduced a new game to him. Treasure hunt! We gave him a clue, ask him to find the spot and search for the next clue until he finds the treasure, which is usually snacks! He couldn't get the concept earlier but once he did, he liked it! He bugged us for more. So, we played with him few more rounds. Will do a better one next month with a proper present. His birthday ma! And the fun thing is, once he picked up the concept, he will asked us to join in his 'game', this time with him mentoring and deciding on the clues and writing them down for our guesses. And his clue makes sense. Smart boy!

The Father:
Nothing much about the Father. He is still super caring about the boy. And I love it the way he plays with him. It's heart-warming to see the bonding between them. He is a very caring father to the boy and Lunz is really fortunate to have him in his life. :)

Other than that, my hubby now is the Mahjong King! He, mum and either me or bro will be
playing mahjong every weekend. An addiction since CNY. Ish ish.

The Mother:
Ok, it's my turn now. I'm a happy mother with a cheerful, bubbly 6 year old son and a 4 1/2 months old baby growing inside me. I haven't felt the baby kicking me yet and I'm wondering if girls are much well-behaved than boys. Yes!! I'm having a girl. According to the doctor, 70% confirmed it's a girl and to be more accurate, it will be confirmed again in my next checkup, which is in early June. With Lunz last time, in my early 4th month of pregnancy, I already felt him doing somersault in me. Haha....hope to feel my baby kicking me soon.

We went for a baby fair recently and I'm very focused on the items I wanted to buy. I knew it would be very crowded, so, I told daddy what were the items I wanted and the moment we are there, just grab and go! In the end, I managed to buy what's in my list: 2 things, bottles and diapers. We went for a nice lunch after that. My sis-in-law will be giving me most of the stuffs, like car seat, stroller, baby coat, bathtub, breast pump, sterilizer, clothes, etc. So, thanks to her! We are saving a fortune. :)

When the time comes, I will just need to stock up on the necessary items such as 'loo yee' oil, cottons, towels, hanky, bottle liquid washer, baby clothes detergent, buttock cream, etc. Yeah, will need to work out a list later. So far, I'm feeling all good. I try to have at least one fruit serving per day, which I managed to have so far. I just had coconut water last Sunday and it was good! I'm craving for ice lemon tea.....watermelon.....!!

All in all, we are doing good and we are all happy. That's the main point of life. :)
I still have an outdated post to update: Our Hard Rock Penang and Grandma (Ipoh) Birthday Dinner. Will try to update whenever I can.

Into the 9th Week of Pregnancy

I'm nine weeks now. Everything is progressing fine except for the frequent fatigue and nausea that I'm experiencing. Well, hubby claims that I'm moody all the time. How can I not be when I have to deal with tiredness and emotion swings everyday. This first trisemester is a lot more difficult to deal with than the time when I had Lunz. I practically felt nothing back then. And I dislike fish now. I just felt like throwing up at the sight and smell of fish. However, one similarity on both pregnancies is I didn't vomit at all, which I should be counting my blessing.

I made my second check-up last Saturday. Until now, I still haven't made up my mind on which gynae to stay with. The first one I went wasn't as good because he was not very attentive and into details. We decided to try out a doctor in the newly open Columbia Asia hospital near my house. According to hubby, it's more convenient as it's just 5 mins drive from home. But, we were kinda dissapointed with the doctor after the visit. Well, he was good, he was into details, he gave us discount and he gave me 1 month of free Obimin supplement supply, which cost about 70 bucks. But he lost in terms of a doctor's image. How on earth a doctor can have long fingernails? Which he has. Does he knows what is professionalism and cleanliness? His left last fingernail was about 2cm long. How on earth is he gonna wear gloves in operating theater, especially when he has to deal with childbirth, if you know what I mean? So then, we decided to seek another doctor for my third visit, which is in April. I have 2 doctors on my mind depending on which hospital we prefer. Either Pantai Cheras or UKM Specialist. Most probably will go for Pantai Cheras.

Anyway, when the doctor did the scan for me, I was very happy to see the little tiny heart flickering on the screen.

My baby is a size of a grape (1 inch) now.

Colleagues who knows about it commented I'm showing and it's pretty obvious. I told them, I'm bloated and seriously my tummy is really big now even when I'm just only 9 weeks. Well, to avoid being obvious, I wear loose clothing to work everyday. It's not the right time to spill the beans yet although I have been confirmed at work recently. I will wait until I'm over with my first trisemester.

We will be going back to Ipoh middle of April to celebrate grandma's birthday. Then we will head on to Penang Hard Rock Hotel for a 3 days 2 nights stay. A treat from hubby's bonus. Can't wait.

No. 2 On The Way

My bosses had gone to Jakarta and will not be back until tomorrow. Hence, with nothing much to do now, I've got my little own free time to do some blogging. Tomorrow, with their presence back at the company will be a busy day for me with loads of things to follow up.

Nothing pretty much to update except to break the good news. Yeah....I'm preggy. :) And I'm in my 6 weeks term now. Everybody was so happy when they knew about it. Especially daddy and my family members. Daddy helps with most of the housechores now. I had my first antenatal check-up recently and the next check-up will be due in March. The gynae that I saw was based in Pantai Cheras Hospital. But with the new opening of the Columbia Asia Hospital in Balakong, which is just 5 minutes drive from home, I'm thinking to switch doctors. Since, I guessed it's never too late as I'm still in my first trisemester. Yeah...I guess I'll give it a try on my next check-up and see how it goes. Daddy said he always prefers a nearer hospital, where else every specialist is more or less the same.

Most of my close friends are aware of the good news and I'm happy to share it with them. I mean I'm going through pregnancy again and it's amazing having this little life inside you. And the bond is so strong even before birth that you are doing everything for this little one. I'm so excited to go through this process again. It's truly an amazing and wonderful journey.

Lunz reacted very well on the idea of having another sibling. I have been telling him, there is a baby in mummy's tummy and he seems to understands. I told him, my tummy will grow bigger and bigger later. And the silly boy asked me, is it because I eat too much? Then I have to explained because there is a baby inside. Not because I eat too much. He is too cute.

The first time he patted my belly, he was a lil' bit rough. Then when I told him not to be so rough, since then, he pats my belly slowly and softly everytime. He was so cute that when sometimes he played with MeiMei and with me around nearby, he keeps saying 'ooppss...sorry baby' at my belly whenever I reminded him to be careful not to bump into me as I've got baby.. And the sweetest thing is, when he kisses my belly everytime. I'm so touched to see how much he loves the baby. He will make a perfect brother. With him around to wait for the baby, it's really different. There is so much love to share.

On morning sickness, I'm experiencing nausea everyday. I didn't actually vomit but the nausea alone is enough to kill you. I felt like throwing up most of the time and sometimes no appetite for food. But I still have to eat anyway. Sometimes, it's like forcing food down the throat. FATIGUE is the next word to describe me. I'm drop dead tired everyday I went to bed at 9pm except a lil' bit later during the weekend. Well, just have to listen to my body as I'm coping with pregnancy now. And most of the time, I have problems going back to sleep once I woke up in the middle of the night. It's pretty normal according to some articles that I read. The high level of progesterone hormone disrupt my sleep at night, leading to even more fatigue during the day. It's a bit different when I first had Lunz. All I felt was just tiredness and was easily hungry. No nausea feeling at all. Every pregnancy is really different as people claims.

Here is my baby's development at 6 weeks:
This week's major developments: The nose, mouth and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute - almost twice as fast as yours - and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.

Amazing huh? The baby is so small and yet there are so many things/developments happening to him/her.

CNY 2011

I had been very busy at work and I didn't have the time to blog at all. I'm practically locked down in front of my PC doing work from 8.30am to 5.30pm every working day. I'm blogging from home now because I know I wouldn't have the time to do so at work tomorrow. And mostly, because I have things to post. ;)

CNY is still hanging around until next Thursday. This year, we went back to Ipoh and later to Penang with mum and family members. The children had a great time though, playing non-stop. One disadvantage going to Penang on public holidays is you get caught in the traffic jam most of the time. There were so many cars! Gurney Drive was so packed! We stayed there for 2 nights, with visits to mostly temples during the day and gambling at night. And fortunately, we stayed in an apartment. Therefore, lots of space for the kids to run around.

I think I'll do the Ipoh CNY trip again next year. I mean on the eve and first day. Firstly, I'm already married to daddy (I should be going back to his side of family) and secondly, I see how important it is for daddy to be there with his family members especially grandma. I meant I saw how much this means to him and how happy he was during our stay there.

Here are some of the pictures taken during the festive trips:

Picture with grandma.

Time flies....he has grown up so much...

Family shot.

In front of Seng Heng candy wholesale shop.

It's OK. It's not that scary right?

Beloved parents.

With beloved mum. Geeezzz....I looked fat!

The whole family.

It was so hot.

Ferry ride.

Lunz's Updates @ 5 1/2 years old (January 2011)

The little one is getting so mischievious as he grows up. He knows how to pretend sick so that he doesn't have to go to school. He talks back with sense and all sorts. I can't remember every single detail but it's nice watching him grow because he is very communicative now. He knows how to express himself very well. Most of the time, he got both hubby and me laughing badly. He is really funny and naive too. Kids....

I can only remember some random scenarios:

Scene 1
Him: Popo, popo....I don't want fan. I want air-cond (probably too hot in the afternoon).
Popo (his grandma, my mum): You ask your daddy to give money la, I open for you.
Him: I give you 50 cents.

And he knows what 50 cents is because it has became an important element in his life for now. I'll tell you why later.

Scene 2
Popo: You want to go back eat or eat here (asking about dinner before I fetch him home)
Him: Eat here. Don't want eat at daddy's house. Mummy angry.

Yeah right! Very clever. Know how to make all sorts of excuses and reasons. Since when I have became an angry-tiger-mama who only knows how to shout at her cub?

Scene 3
Him: See! My car is broken (pointing to the broken toy car lying on the floor).
Me: Throw here, throw there. Step on the car, of course broken la. Never walk properly.
Him: See! It's Dave! It's Dave! Not me.
Me: What?! Dave step on your car?
Him: Yes!

Well....he even knows how to defend himself and 'hok si fei' to me on who broke his toy car. Hahaha....by the way, Dave is daddy. He has been calling me Toby, daddy = Dave and himself = Alvin. Thanks to daddy for introducing him to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks! There he goes, calling us by the character names in the movie. Well, he seldom calls me mummy now, always, Toby! Toby! Toooobbbbbyyyyyyyyy!!

Scene 4
Him: Where is my letter? Where is my 'C'?? (looking every where for his lost plastic letter toy)
Me: I don't know. Don't want find la. Later it will come out.
Him: Throw here, throw there. How to find? (looking lost and confused)

He knows how to imitate my speeches already because that's what I told him on and off everytime he lost his toy. I'll tell him the same phrase. So now, he is using it to describe about himself. And, it's really funny you know, the way he nags about himself. Haha....

There are a whole lot more about him but I can't remember the scenes. Well, so here goes some brief updates about him:

Height: 123 cm
Weight: 32 kg
Favourite noodle: Brown mee mee (yee mee)
Favourite food: Anything that tastes good!
Favourite cartoon: Mr. Bean Animation and Pink Panther
Favourite sports: The gumball machine. (Now the reason 50 cents is important to him because he can use it to withdraw gumball from the machine. Well, he calls it gumball. It's actually those machine found outside the bookstore or convenient shop where there are a lot of tiny toys in the machine. Once you slot in some coins, turn the handle and there goes some capsule that pop out from the machine. And his joy is the curiousity to find out what's in the capsule. And that's the reason why I'm accumulating 50 cents for him as well).
Favourite entertainment: The computer still! And iphone also. He can sit whole day and watch his daddy play computer games.

I guessed that's about it for the time being!

My Early Birthday Celebrations

Mum and hubby did the most for me this year's birthday. I'm reaching the big 30 in another year time. This is going to be my last year in the 20s. Thinking back, I did achieved alot. Especially grateful for the lovely boy I have. He is my achievement. He is my trophy. :)

Mum came over last Saturday and spent the whole day with me. We went to shop for cooking stuffs because we gonna have a big birthday dinner with the family. We bought crabs, prawns and etc. Hubby and mum cook the dishes while I was the cleaner for the day. My cooking skills are not as good as theirs. So, I can only handle the cleaning duty. It seems like I have been washing, scrubbing and mopping the whole day. Anyway, I'm touched everybody made the effort because it shows how much they love me and I'm grateful to GOD for that. Really...

Early Birthday Presents

Alright...I'm gonna be another year older. Birthday is coming soon. But before that, I've already gotten some early birthday pressies.

From mum - NICHII top

From long-timed buddy, Sharon who studied and works in London since 10 years ago - MICHAEL KORS wallet. I know she earns pound, but earning pound and being generous are two different case. Next time, I dare not 'tumpang' her to buy anything, because she just won't take money back from me! Like this wallet, she said to me, treat it as my birthday gift.

My 4 years loyal SWATCH that I've gotten from daddy since I worked in Astro was finally broken 2 days ago. It's really a waste as the watch is still functioning, just that the plastic frame can't be fixed. Anyway, I'm keeping it still and will be using it even though I can't wear it, so just maybe chuck it in my pocket, and take it out to check the time whenever needed.

Nevertheless, daddy got me another watch from FRENCH CONNECTION. I just love it so much that I can't bear to wear it for fear of scratching the surface or the leather strap. Thanks hubby!

Hope everybody will have a very good start for the New Year and hope I'll have a new addition to my family soon. :)
