I took my replacement leave yesterday. Nothing much in particular but just for the sake of resting. I just finished some of the projects at work and thought I decided to give myself a break. So, I took a nice day off with an initial planning that both daddy and I will have a nice day out together for a movie and lunch.
Mana tau, I didn't get to see any movie (because there isn't any nice movie now) and I didn't get a good lunch either. The day started like this.....
I was a bit dizzy from the flu pill that I took on Sunday night. So, Monday morning I woke up with a heavy head. Then, Lunz started to lau gai. Told me that he didn't want to go school and took his house clothes for me to change instead. Both daddy and I insisted that he should go and after much persuasion, he gave in. So, we changed him into his uniform and off we went.
When I walked him inside his school compound and passed him to his teacher, I walked off and turned around later to find him wiping his face. I can't bring myself to hop into the car and drove off because I knew he was crying. When he saw me hesitated, he broke down completely, sobbing on the bench. Gosh, if I'm rushing to work, I would have no choice but to leave him to the hands of his teacher. But there I am, knowing I'm not working and planned to have a nice time while my son was crying away struck my conscience. So, I walked back in and told the teacher I'll be bringing him home instead. Well, since his exam was over and in another 2 weeks, school holidays would start anyway, I decided to let him skipped school. This was the first time in the whole year that he actually cried at school when I left. Never before I faced this situation, even during he first started school.
Maybe he was not feeling well, maybe it's Monday blues, maybe it's separation anxiety or maybe he just bully mummy....I'm not sure. Anyway, daddy said it's a wrong move because he said Lunz will try it again next time. Cry and no school. He said I shouldn't let it happened. Well, no doubt what he said could be true but no harm in breaking the rules once in awhile. It depends on situations.
So, I sent him back to mum's house and went off for McD breakfast with daddy. Then, both of us spent some time at home before fetching the little one at lunch hour to do our shopping. Daddy decided to cook dinner, so we went to Jusco and bought the stuffs. Daddy cooked assam fish and asparagus stir-fry prawn for dinner. When it comes to cooking, he can really cook way much better than I do. I mean I didn't even thought of putting 'fa tiu chow' (one sort of cooking wine) into the asparagus dish. And just with the combination of it, the dish can be damn tasty with the right amount of everything. I finished everything and only realized I was so busy eating that I forgot to take a picture of it to post in my blog.
Then, we set up another Christmas tree. Jingle bells...jingle bells.....Christmas is coming, a sign showing how time flies. We put the much bigger Christmas tree in the living room, next to the sofa. So, both me and Lunz was really busy plucking the ornaments from the previous tree and putting them on the new tree. We did not dismantled the old tree, it was being left there at where it was but of course, with fewer decorations as most of the ornaments has been stolen! Hahaha....
I think what is still lacking are the presents under the tree. We will wrapped up some empty boxes and put them under the tree. Just to beautify the tree. The real presents will be topped up later nearing Christmas day. It's too early to buy now. Will take a picture of the tree soon!
That's how I practically spend my planned-but-not-materialized rest day!

I'm not finished yet. Just to add on, I'm currently training the little one to poo in the toilet rather than in the potty. Well, he is so big now that the standard regular size potty can't support his fat, round buttocks. Last Thursday and Friday, my mum succeeded in getting him to poo in the toilet but when it comes to weekend, I thought that by hiding the potty, he has no choice but to go for the toilet. Mana tau, he preferred to store it inside him instead. So, he did not do his business for 2 days until I finally took out the potty for him. But, yesterday daddy managed to get him to sit on the toilet. So, on and off, we will see how it goes.
