Mid Autumn Festival

Last Sunday was the Mid Autumn Festival. But luckily we did not chose to celebrate on its actual day because it was raining cats and dogs. Saturday night was just fine with the big fat round moon high up on the sky. Family members gathered at grandma's house for dinner. There were varieties of food around and I really ate the grill chicken wings like there is no tomorrow. And of course to top it all up with watermelon chunks and agar-agar as well. Hehehehe....

Then, we had a fun time lighting up lanterns. Now a days, lanterns are so advance. They have the electronic version. No candles needed. The bulb inside the lantern is electronic. So, kids don't have to fear that their lanterns will be on fire if it is not handle properly. But of course, with the electronic lanterns you wouldn't get to experience the true fun of traditionally lighting up lanterns. Of course, we still played with candles and light up lanterns with candles. The electronic ones are just meant for kids as young as my boy.

The mahjong kakis' started the mahjong session later at my mum's house. So, all of us headed back to my mum's place. We continued to light up the lanterns even though mum's balcony was less spacious than grandma's front yard. We had to cramp and squat up and down most of the time due to the lack of space at the balcony. Nevertheless, we still had a great time. When I lit the candles and arranged them nicely, Lunz sang the happy birthday song. Because to him, seeing brightly litted candles meaning it's birthday. Time for the birthday song! In fact, I heard him sang the birthday song to himself, "Happy Birthday to Lun Lun". Hehehehe.....that was very cute!
